The Children’s Learning Centre 2014-2019

A collaborative project with Ana Aqra Association, the Children’s Learning Centre (CLC) provided Early Childhood Education (ECE) and School Retention (Homework Support) for 1000 pupils each year in Baalbek, Lebanon.

Classroom on a Bus 2014-2019

Running parallel to the CLC, the Classroom on a Bus project provided ECE and Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN) for pupils in two locations (Bekaa and Akkar) in Lebanon.

Art Therapy 2018-2019

Running parallel to the Children’s Learning Centre, Art Therapy was run in conjunction with professional therapists, Artichoke Studio (Beirut) and provided training for teachers, sessions for classes and therapy referrals for pupils.

Keeping Children Safe in Nonformal Education Settings 2019-2021

This research project incorporated 10 non-formal education centres in Lebanon and resulted in a ground-breaking paper along with an accompanying ‘practical guide’.

Capacity Building within the Community to Tailor Creative and Innovative Education Opportunities for Disabled Refugee Children 2019

The programme aimed to increase opportunities for these CwDs to be able to work, learn, and be engaged within a community, which is the minimum humanitarian right to live with dignity.

Emergency Support for Disabled Refugee Children 2020

When the pandemic hit AMF approached Rahma for Special Needs to distribute food and educational equipment (purchased locally) to help parents of children with disabilities to educate children previously enrolled in specialist school.

Emergency Medical Support Following the Beirut Port Explosion 2020

In the wake of the Beirut Port Explosion AMF once again turned to Rahma for Special Needs, which in its (dual) capacity as a private medical hospital, was able to provide a mobile medical clinic in various key locations around the city.

A project in Athens, Greece which aimed to foster social integration through technical training (e.g. 'Cooking' pictured left) and Greek language support.  

Education and Technology Centre 2021-2022

This project aimed to help young refugees in Malta through provision of ‘tech packs’ and a community centre for classes, community activities and PC-access for job hunting.

Trauma Therapy for Syrian Refugee Children 2021-2022

A project in Turkey which ran August 2021 – October 2022. This project aimed to improve the well-being and mental health of war-impacted Syrian refugee children.

PSS Training For Teachers in the Gaza Strip 2021-2022

Improved children’s wellbeing and educational outcomes by introducing the SEL model to 12 schools in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Work Based Training 2022-2023

Six work-based learning programs to support 90 unemployed/semi-employed youths (80% refugees and 20% displaced Lebanese) with technical and job skills for the Lebanese market and remote working.
